fallout new vegas black screen after loading

So I recently started having problems for my Fallout New Vegas games where I would have a black screen upon starting a new game. I deleted every Fallout NV file that I had and downloaded TTW and been playing it for a couple of hours. I had the infinite loop bug but not sure if I fixed it and now I'm having the same black screen bug where upon starting a new game my game is on a black screen. What seems to fix the game is typing 'coc goodsprings' on the console but I'm not sure whether there'll be more problems down the road. OS - Win7, Processor - intel core2 duo e8400, memory 6gb. Currently using from another device so if I need to upload my load order and install log then I will.

I was using ENB version 0.267 and I was also getting a black screen at launch with only the ENB overlay. After much screaming and hair pulling I figured out that at least that version needs a folder called "shaders" in /Data i.e "/Data/shaders" with some files in it. Not sure exactly which files but when using an ENB preset based on 0.267 with some files in the "shaders" folder it suddenly works. Even if you you have followed the ENBoost guide.

16. If the LO has changed, re-run FNVLODGen after LOOT. (Rebuilds LOD quadrants (quads), which are "load order" dependent.)17. Use FNVEdit (loading the entire LO) to check for Masters that are missing or loading after Dependencies. See the wiki tutorial Missing Masters. There is full documentation of FNVEdit (for both FO3 and FNV) in the online docs Tome of xEdit and the downloadable PDF FNVEdit Training Manual.18. Are you using a Wrye Flash Bashed Patch or a manually created "merge patch" file? (Resolves record level conflicts.) See S.T.E.P. Merging Plugins Guide which covers both approaches, or the video Making a Merge Patch by Roy Batty for the "merge up" approach. (Use of "Mod Organizer" is not required.) Use the Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide to quickly get functional with "Wrye Flash", which I think is the easier approach for a novice modder.19. If you are using "Wrye Flash" to create a "Bashed Patch", have you gotten all "green" checkboxes for all your mods? See the first post in the pinned thread Fallout New Vegas Beginners guide to modding by gromulos.20. Was there an update to a mod that has been included in a "merged plugins" or "merge patch" file? Rebuild the "merge" file.21. Did any system or driver updates occur? (Third party processes might be the cause if nothing else changed.)22. Does your hardware meet the game's minimum requirements?23. Have you tried running the game in "windowed mode"? This has been known to unexpectedly fix CTDs and "out of memory" errors on some older hardware. If you prefer the "borderless" version of "windowed mode", install New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) and use the One Tweak for FNV mod.

When you open the launcher, it functions as it should with the music in the background. Also have audio by the time the main menu loads. Whenever you load a game, the loading screen with the roulette wheel has no audio and this screen will freeze for one to two seconds (as evidenced by the ball in the roulette wheel stopping). Screen will then go black for a few seconds, and the game will load, but have no audio at this point and there is severe lag.

Unless the camera is pointed at the sky or your feet, the ground and all other textures disappear. Messages would become "black boxes", the entire screen becomes black and occasionally flash different colors. Just "glitchy". Eventually after a short period of time the game will CTD.

The ambient music is choppy in both vanilla and modded games. This doesn't happen to the radio music during normal gameplay, but does during loading screens or transitioning between tracks (i.e. going from ambient "explore" music to "combat", or entering new locations with different music).

ENBoost is a stand-alone component called "enbhost.exe"; considered a memory and optimization "patch" to the ENB Series graphics effects process for the specific game with it's own version numbers. It is not involved with nor require the post-processing, so it does not impose the FPS loss that the ENBSeries is known for. Therefore, it is recommended for all users. See the S.T.E.P. Project ENBoost Quickstart Instructions on how to install and configure for only this feature. If you have installed ENB correctly you should see on the loading screens (in the upper left corner) something similar to: .Note the "available texture memory" line at the bottom. This should not be increased over the size reported before installing ENBoost by the VRamSizeTest tool available from the ENB download site.

1. Rename the PS3_Game folder of retail disc [BCUS98298] into "NPUA72074",2. Unpack the demo NPUA72074 then copy only the [eboot.bin] from it then paste into folder [USRDIR] in [NPUA72074] renamed in step 1,3. Edit PARAM.SFO of [NPUA72074] and change Category from DG Disc Game (blu-ray) to HG Harddrive Game then Save,4. Delete LICDIR folder in NPUA72074,5. Download only the v1.01 update for BCUS98298,6. Unpack contents of downloaded v1.01 update then move them to a new folder called "BCUS98298",7. For DTU: Transfer NPUA72074 and BCUS98298 folders into CFW PS3 then DTU to OFW PS3. Done.7. For HAN: Move NPUA72074 and BCUS98298 folders into make-backup-pkg directory then open/run [do.bat]. Install on HAN PS3 with [Enable Debug Packages]. Done. For Han: converted with CFW2OFW Helper v13 the game stucks at a black screen. Feel free to try with PS3GameConvert v0.91.

If you get black screen and console freeze during game startup on HEN/HAN try this method:1. Before converting, move the original files of "PS3_GAME\USRDIR" (except EBOOT.BIN, default.self, and default_mp.self) to a temp folder outside the PS3_GAME folder.2. Convert the game using CFW2OFW v1.13 ("PS3_GAME\USRDIR" should contain EBOOT.BIN, default.self, and default_mp.self files only).3. After the conversion, move the original files (the ones inside the temp folder you made in step 1) to the converted folder "BLES00687\USRDIR". (resulting NPEB00687 folder should be small, around 19-20MB in size and BLES00684 should be around 7.15GB)4. Make the packages with Make-Backup-PKG, game package will be small (19-20MB) while patch will be the biggest one (7.15GB)

On HAN: if you get black screen after selecting fighter on BLES version,1. Edit GAME ID in PARAM.SFO to BLUS30722 2. Delete LICDIR folder 3. Then convert it using CFW2OFW Helper. If you want DLC, you can put the DLC folder inside USRDIR of the update folder after converting then make-backup-PKG. 2ff7e9595c
